Dylan Walters: 03/21/06
Software and Game Developer

Hello! I'm Dylan Walters, I've spent the majority of Highschool participating in after school activites such as: robotics, cross country, track and field, jazz band, and marching band. Beginning my Junior year I began the Careerline Tech Center program through my sending school, Zeeland East High School. I joined the Software and Game Development class where I learned to write code in many languages but focusing on C#. By joining this program I was able to gain Experience working in groups and developing my problem solving skills. I'm always excited to work with others and better enhance my programming knowledge!

Experience

FIRST Robotics

Throughout Highschool I was a part of a FIRST robotics team: #85 Built On Brains, or B.O.B. Each year, FIRST robotics would release a game with the objective for each varying. The goal was to create a fully functional robot that is able to play against and compete with other robots from other teams. There is an eight week build season from launch of the game to the first competitive match. This may seem like alot of time but designing, building, and programming all take a significant amount of time. Including the fact that practice would be needed and testing this time frame always leaves each team working long hours to get something presentable. As the lead programmer and techician for team 85' robot I have Experience working in an intense, competitive, environment while collaborating with other teams (or alliances) to be the best team possible.

CTC - Reinventing the Wheel

This group project was focused at teaching the code-behind certain given functions in c# that we often take for granted. We re-created different array, math, and string utilities such as: toLower(string s), hasLetter(string s, char c), contains(int[] x, int y), min(int x, int y), max(int x, int y). Although these are just a few examples there are many more! It has all been documented and published as a NuGet Package you can download! Clicking this image will bring you to our NuGet Package:

CTC - Final Project

Ending my first year at the Careerline Tech Center I was tasked with creating an interactive video game. For the project we used the Unity game engine and were given a breif overview beforehand. It was our task to learn the software, code, music, graphics, and any other aspect needed to finish the game. I have added a copy of the game into this online Portfolio for you to play below!
